Off Grid Solar FAQs
I have a generator in the shed, can I hook it up?
Yes, you can hook up your generator to the off-grid solar system, in an ideal scenario the system will only ever use a generator if absolutely necessary during periods of low solar energy production, the goal is to design and size the setup appropriately to meet your energy needs.
Can I install the inverter / storage outside?
Yes! We use IP65 (or higher) rated enclosures fully protecting the equipment… In terms of the panels they are typically on the roof or on a ground-mounted system.
Can it be installed on the grid?
Off-grid solar systems are designed for properties without access to the electricity grid. If you have access to the grid, you may consider a grid-tied solar system.
Do any rebates apply to the system?
As long as the inverter is CEC certified STC incentives (rebate) applies! We only use CEC certified inverters in our designs so there will always be money back on the system.
Can it deliver 3 Phase power?
Absolutely! It depends on the specific off-grid solar system you have installed. Some off-grid solar systems are designed to deliver single-phase power, while others can deliver three-phase power. If you require three-phase power we will work that out with you.
Can I expand it down the track?
Yes, off-grid solar systems can be expanded over time to meet changing energy needs. This may involve adding additional solar panels, batteries, or other components to the system.
